Bacterial heart in white radish fruit

What are the causes of having bacterial heart rot?

Possible causes of bacterial heart rot:

  • Calcium and Boron Deficiency
The lack of essential trace nutrients like calcium and boron can weaken plant tissues, causing tender shoots to develop blackened, rotting symptoms. This issue is more pronounced in cases of uneven soil nutrient distribution or limited absorption capacity.
  • Bacterial Infection in the Core
The plant’s core tissues can be infected by bacteria causing rot, leading to disease development. Such infections are often exacerbated by high humidity, poor ventilation, or overly moist soil conditions.

Recommended prevention methods:

  • Supplement Calcium, Magnesium, and Boron Nutrients – Use Mr Ganick Organic CalMagBo+ (40ml/20L water), spraying weekly for three consecutive weeks. This helps improve nutrient absorption, strengthen plant tissues, and reduce blackened rot in tender shoots.
  • Use bacterial control agents
  • Alternate spraying Mr Ganick Bact-X Concentrate (60ml/20L water) and Mr Ganick BST (30g/20L water, approximately 3 tablespoons) weekly for three consecutive weeks. This combination effectively suppresses bacterial diseases, repairs damaged tissues, and protects new growth.

The above agents can also be mixed for a synergistic effect:
