Pink disease in durian tree and fruit tree

How to treat Pink Disease?

To address Pink Disease and Phomopsis fungi, it is recommended to spray copper-based fungicides to reduce fungal growth. When applying foliar fertilizers like Nitro+, you can mix in Copper Hydroxide or Copper Oxychloride and spray evenly on the leaves once a week. This helps slow the spread of the disease.

  • Perform at least three rounds of spraying to monitor whether new shoots grow healthily and remain unaffected by the fungus.
  • If the symptoms on the tree trunk start to dry out and subside, you can reduce the spraying frequency to once every two weeks for another three rounds.

Since Pink Disease is closely related to humidity, reducing moisture levels is crucial for disease control. Consider the following steps:

  1. Prune regularly to improve airflow within the canopy, reducing moisture buildup and promoting plant health.
  2. Enhance disease resistance by adding Potassium Bicarbonate or Baking Soda (50g per 20L of water) to fertilization and irrigation solutions. This not only improves fungal control but also helps lower environmental humidity, preventing further fungal growth.
