This disease is a form of anthracnose, primarily affecting papaya and other fruit trees. Since papaya has a thin peel and a high sugar content inside the fruit, it is more susceptible to fungal infections and harmful pathogens, which can lead to disease outbreaks, affecting fruit health and yield. To reduce the occurrence of anthracnose, the following treatment methods are recommended:
Recommended Treatment:
- Spray Mr Ganick CalMagBo+ – This foliar fertilizer helps slightly thicken the papaya peel, enhancing the fruit’s natural defense against disease and reducing the likelihood of fungal infections.
- Use fungicides to spray the tree and fruit – Apply Azoxystrobin or an organic fungicide like Mr Ganick Moldy Guard Concentrate to effectively suppress the growth and spread of anthracnose-causing fungi.
Application Method:
- Mix 40ml of Mr Ganick CalMagBo+ with 20L of water and 30-40ml of Mr Ganick Moldy Guard Concentrate with 20L of water, evenly spray the prepared solution on the papaya fruit surface and the entire tree
- Spray every 7-10 days, continuing for at least 3 weeks to achieve the best disease control results.
By following these integrated management practices, the risk of anthracnose in papaya can be significantly reduced, ensuring healthier fruit, better quality, and an extended harvest period.
