Bark scraping inspection:
Gently scrape the surface of the plant’s bark with a tool and observe for red blotches:
- If red blotches appear immediately after scraping, it is a clear symptom of black head disease, indicating a severe infection.
- If no red blotches appear immediately but gradually darken over time due to oxidation, the infection is mild. The darker the blotches, the more serious the disease.
Recommended Treatment:
- Scrape the bark until the inner layer is white.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of Mr Ganick BST (10g) + Mr Ganick Lepid 007 Concentrate (5ml) + Mr Ganick Silwet + 200ml of water.
- Apply to the wound: Dip a brush into the solution, brush the affected area back and forth ten times, re-dipping the brush after each stroke.
- Apply in the evening for the best results.
- Repeat once a week for at least three weeks. Visible improvement should be noticeable after the first week.
If the infected area is too high to reach, use a spray method instead:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of Mr Ganick BST (10g) + Mr Ganick Lepid 007 Concentrate (20ml) + 1 press of Mr Ganick Silwet + 20L of water.
- Spray continuously until the solution dries on the affected area.
