Seed Sowing Guide
Seedling
Prepare Baba seedling soil and seedling pots. Fill up the seedling pots with seedling soil, use finger gently make a small hole, put in 1-2 seeds and cover with a thin layer of soil.
During seedling stage, put under shaded area and make sure water thoroughly when needed. When there is sprout, then move it to area with direct sunlight.
♥♥ Extra Tip: Before put in seed into soil or before transplant, you could water the seedling mix or potting mix first. This is to ensure the potting mix get enough moist and prevent plants get dehydrated later.
Transplant
When the seedlings grow 3 to 4 true leaves, may thin out excess seedlings (remove weak seedlings) or transplant into a planting pot with a depth of 60cm or more, keep the strongest seedling for each hole. Leave 60cm gap for each plant.
Fertilizing
Put Mr. Ganick 532 Organic Leafy Fertilizer on 7th days after transplant. After that, repeat fertilizing on every week, for a month.
One month later, or when the plant start flowering, change the fertilizer to Mr. Ganick 426 Organic Melon Fertilizer, repeat weekly too.
Dig a small hole beside plants, and put in fertilizer, then cover the fertilizer with a thin layer of soil.
Water after done fertilizing.
Harvest Tips:
Only keep main vine and a side vine with the an axillary bud, remove other axillary bud. Only keep one fruit per vine.
Ready to be harvested after 10 months from transplant, when the fruit turns into orange.
Growing Tips:
Papaya is easy to attract pests, may apply Mr Ganick Scale Terminator in the evening after watering, in order to repel insect, twice a week.
Papaya is a multiple harvested crop, suggested to harvest 2- 3 times.
